MEET OWNER/COACH ZACH HUSE

BS – EX. SCI., USAW, NSCA-CPT

By trade and by title, Zach is a Strength and Conditioning coach. He graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. In college, he was a two-sport athlete, playing Strong Safety on the highly competitive NCAA D1 SEC football team and competing in Olympic Weightlifting as a 94/105kg weightlifter on the National Stage. In addition to focusing on his own training, he worked as a strength and conditioning/performance coach with various teams and programs. He coached NFL, NBA, MLB, MLS athletes in Miami, FL as well as in a university setting with Olympian Head Coach Jianping Ma where he was the assistant coach on the USA National Championship Lindenwood Weightlifting Team. Zach also has a large amount of experience as a personal trainer with a wide range of hundreds of individual clients in the Kentucky and the St. Louis area. Now through Strength Works he has had the opportunity to coach athletes from all over the United States and the world.

Through these experiences, Zach discovered his passion for helping people achieve their goals and improve their lives. This path has led him to build a diverse and successful track record across a range of skill levels, athletic disciplines, and training facilities.

Zach has developed his science-based methodologies, philosophy on empirical and performance based results, and the deep appreciation of his returning clients by learning, through experience, what works and what doesn’t, what motivates and what discourages each individual athlete, and what truly differentiates one athlete from the next. Zach strives to create the highest performing athletes and individuals through his approach to training by focusing on developing equal parts mind and body. And just like in his own athletic career, his goal with every client, regardless of age, skill level, and personal pursuit, is to help him or her discover the greatness inside of them, reach their true potential, and become the person they’ve always wanted to be.

Training with coach Zach has been awesome and I have grown so much as an athlete. Regardless of whether you are training to compete or become the strongest version of yourself, Zach presents a focused environment that is also fun and light hearted- so necessary while training during grad school!

I started training with Zach about two years ago because of greatly reduced bone density due to medication taken for prostate cancer. After a year of training (mostly power lifting and accessories), the bone density in my hips had leveled out and that in my spine had gone up! I can’t wait to see what this coming bone density test shows! I feel stronger and have more energy after lifting than I had the first two years of being on the medication. I’m hoping, now that my treatment has stopped, I will get even stronger and have more energy. I started with personal training, but due to my schedule I now do open gym time with a training program. Zach is still there to help me whenever needed. I’ll be with Strength Works for many years to come!
